Mark Willis 113 Bascomb Drive Woodstock, GA 30189 Phone: (770) 928-7044 E-mail: maw01@mindspring.com Web Site: www.mindspring.com/~maw01/wfstdio.html Mark Willis brings a unique blend of talents and experience to his artwork. Working primarily in digital media, Mark has been involved with computers and digital art for almost twenty years, making him one of the pioneers of computer art. As a youth, he became proficient in drawing and illustration as well as photography and image manipulation using classical darkroom techniques, publishing several works commercially while still in high school. Mark attended Oklahoma City University in the 70's to study traditional art techniques in painting and illustration. After his university experience, he became fascinated by the then infant field of computer graphics and went on to publish one of the first books on three dimensional graphics for personal computers, 3D COMPUTER GRAPHICS (Entelek, 1983, ISBN 87567-041-5). The lure of steady income sidetracked Mark into a lucrative career as a software developer in the 80's but the advent of powerful personal computers in the 90's led Mark to return to his exploration of digital art. The ability to finance his hardware and software purchases from software income gave him great freedom to explore digital imagery from a purely artistic perspective without the constant pressures of commercial demands. Mark's style and subject matter are extremely varied. His works include classical still lifes, abstracts, figure studies, science fiction, fantasy, horror, illustration, humor, southwestern, and children's scenes. In 1995, Mark established the "Wire Frame Studio" site on the World Wide Web. This combination art gallery and digital art school has attracted thousands of visitors from around the world and has won many awards and critical acclaim. You can visit Wire Frame Studio to see Mark's latest works and learn about computer art techniques at www.mindspring.com/~maw01 Today Mark currently resides in Atlanta and continues to produce images on the leading edge of computer art.
